Included in the second column are web sites from cities in America that have made museums easily accessible.

North Georgia museums and events will be posted that make the arts accessible by lowering their prices at certain times or free of charge. This raises the question, should the arts be free to all or is their importance realized by charging large fees? Should art be free? Does that devalue the exhibits and shows? There are enough opinions for debate on this subject. Articles addressing this topic will also be included here. The opinion that the arts are primarily for the economically advantaged is not held by all. Some museums are hesitant to have visitors who do not know museum etiquette, will touch the paintings, or not be quiet and dignified. This is an arrogant opinion. Art is for everyone. Museums of art should be open for everyone regardless of their economic status or ability to pay admission.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City has a donations accepted admittance. People may pay what they can and are to be treated equally as visitors. Other museums offer specific times for no charge. How many people do not go to a show, concert, or museum because of the price? Some may feel that it is all out of reach - or it is not "for them". Professional art is not accessible to much of America. This blog gives information on affordable opportunities to experience the arts first hand.

**********************************************************

I encourage you to comment on any events you know of that are free or economical and I will add them to the blog.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

google free museums

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Community events, local art galleries, craft shows, and local concerts are available in all areas.
the arts!
